What happens when you miss a call.
Four steps, and only one of them needs anything from you.
They ring you. You can't get to it.
Your own number, the one on the van. Unanswered calls go to FlowPilot instead of voicemail — you set that once on your handset, and it takes about a minute.
FlowPilot answers as your business
By name, and it tells the caller straight away that it's an assistant taking details. It never quotes a price and never promises a time.
It finds out what the job is, and when they want it
The work, the address, the date they're planning around, and who they are. One question at a time, the way a person would ask.
It reaches you two ways
A text the second the call ends, with a link that opens the whole job. Everything stays in your dashboard, so you always know what's still waiting on you.
Say something a customer would say.
This is the real receptionist, not a recording. Tell it about a job and watch it build up beside you.
Thanks for calling O'Brien Plumbing. I'm their automated assistant — I'll take your details and pass them straight on. What can we do for you?

What lands with you
Two texts go out the moment the caller hangs up — one to you, one to them. No voicemail to sit through, and nothing you have to remember to check.

Questions worth asking
Do I have to change my number?
No. You keep the number that's on your van, your website and your Google listing. You dial one short code once, and calls you don't pick up land with FlowPilot instead of voicemail. Nothing else about how you work changes.
Will my customers know they're talking to a machine?
Yes, because we tell them. Every call opens with "Thanks for calling O'Brien Plumbing. I'm their automated assistant — I'll take your details and pass them straight on." before your own greeting. You can't switch that off, and that's deliberate — somebody describing an emergency in their kitchen deserves to know what they're speaking to.
What if it doesn't understand the job?
It asks again. If it still can't tell, it takes whatever details it has and flags the job for you rather than guessing — you get a lead marked as needing a human. It never quotes a price and never promises a time you haven't agreed to.
What happens outside my working hours?
Whatever you tell it to. Answer and text you straight away, answer and hold the job until morning, or don't answer at all. You set your hours and the behaviour separately, so a Saturday emergency and a Tuesday teatime can be handled differently.
Are you recording my customers' calls?
No. Calls are transcribed, not recorded — there is no audio file, anywhere. You can delete a caller's details from your dashboard, and that clears the transcript too, so erasing someone genuinely erases them.
How long until it's actually answering calls?
Most of it is done while you set it up — the number is bought and configured for you in the background. The one thing only you can do is dial the forwarding code on your own handset, which takes about ten seconds.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from your billing settings. It keeps answering until the end of the month you've paid for. There's no notice period and nothing to ring anyone about.
Point your own number at it.
You keep your number. Nothing on your van, your website or your Google listing changes.
